ductapeguy's 44.1kHz-16bit recording did not convert properly to 8kHz-16bit.

The downsampling to 16kHz-16bit seems OK.

Both sets of audio in Main for ductapeguy-20070308b not downsampled correctly - might have something to so with use of 44.1 kHz rather than 44100 Hz ...
