Description
email from kamclean to robin
Thanks! Seems like a long list though ... might there be 5-6 major groupings?
Robin's reply
Yes there are, but I wasn't sure what the best practice would be.
See this link http://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nederlands#Nederlandse_dialecten
I guess we could also go for:
algemeen Nederlands Zuidwestelijk Noordwestelijk Noordoostelijk Noordelijk-centraal Zuidelijk-centraal Zuidoostelijk Surinaams-Nederlands Antiliaans-Nederlands anders
and then link to the wikipedia page from the applet with a questionmark or 'toelichting' (meaning 'explanation')
or (if a link from the applet is impossible) add: "Niet zeker van het te kiezen dialect? Lees dan meer over dialecten op wikipedia." (where the latter sentence should link to wikipedia) This means: "Unsure which dialect to choose? Read more on dialects on wikipedia."
